I have been wanting rear seats in the FC for the longest time, but they are hard to come by in the states. Even if you manage to find some, there's missing hardware and are typically listed for high prices? It's not like anyone is gonna fit back there anyways (especially if you're of the usual american size). Anyways, I finally found a complete set with the seat belts and brackets to hold the back portion up for a price that I'm actually willing to pay. The only downsides were that they were dirty as fuck and blue. One other thing that I don't like about them was the material (leather/some type of plush?), but we didn't have much of a choice in the states as that was pretty much the only option. If I come across a cloth Japan market set, I would definitely grab them! Someone that regularly brings in containers from Japan said that he would try to grab some for me if there is room.

The paint applied on very easily, but as expected the plush(?) material feels a little rough. I heard brushing the material while applying the paint would not make it super rough, and I guess it kinda worked as it's not that bad. But I just got a tip from a friend that if you lightly wet the material before you spray, it won't be rough at all. I may try that if i ever use fabric paint again. Another thing about this fabric paint is that it'll kind of rub off on your clothes. Combine that with no leg or head room and sitting in the rear seats will feel like a puishment lol.

I have also been looking for a spline-drive quick release because they look cool. I found one that I really like! I'm a short person, and my seat is positioned all the way forward- just enough for me to fully depress the clutch pedal. Any further back and I can't fully depress the clutch lol. The quick release I found is really thin, so it didn't change the position of the steering wheel too much. This was a huge plus because the steering wheel was in a perfect position for me in the first place.

I spray painted the pieces in my backyard because I eventually want to paint the car silver, and I did not want to pay for a nice paint job only to redo it later. It took a lot of trial and error mixing different paints to try and get a color match to the existing color. In the end, the final result was not as good as I thought it would be since the color started to get darker as it dried.






Sadly, the r magic spoiler was cracked when I bought it, but the price was good especially coming all the way from Japan. This was my first time doing any kind of body work, and I learned a lot. If I were to do it all over again (I do not want to despite my results haha) I know that I could do a way better job. Next time, I will leave it to the professionals lol.

I seriously thought I had got the color down close to the original paint, but my efforts failed!










END RESULTS!! Color is off. Uneven coats can be seen. R Magic spoiler cracked.. again.
whatever! Only when the stars align (special lighting and angles) does the paint kinda match. I am just happy everything is together and does not look like absolute shit (just shit. not absolute shit.)

Oh, I also picked up some new trim, for free! Before, there was a nasty hole there outlined for the seatbelt.

I may or may not pick up a new hood. We will see once the container arrives and it is still available.

In a previous post, I said that I was going to get a "race pipe" that removes the catalytic converters on the NA 13B. Well, I got it, and the smell of exhaust follows me everywhere I go! The car really stinks now, but it sounds really good and makes cool popping noises sometimes. It is not too loud, which is what I was after; however, the smell is starting to bother me since I do not drive it as often in fear of getting a ticket haha. I may go back to the factory cats or get a high flow cat to install.

First update for 2017! Not much has happened with the car but I bought another set of watanabe wheels in a more aggressive size: 16x9 +20. Ive also been practicing a bit cutting sashimi haha.

I havent really posted anything of the IS300, but that's cause i dont really do much to it anymore except drive it around. I have however, tried on my friend's modellista kit for fun.




Oh, and I bent the o2 sensor. Just before the time for smog (shaken?). great.


As for the FC, just some basic maintenance and another set of watanabe wheels in a more aggressive size than my last set.

The body of the car is starting to look a little plain with the more aggressive wheels, so I might try and find factory lip and sides. It is going to be a little hard because those were not offered on the majority of the models sold in the states. Most likely, I would have to search on yahoo auctions japan again.

Small update. I found an exhaust that I like. The guy that I bought it from listed it as an "old school Fujitsubo" with a high price. I did not think it was a Fujitsubo so I did some research and found out that it was made by an old company by the name of Sheepdog Prof. I kindly corrected him and offered a litter under his asking price, and he took it! It was still a little bit expensive; however, you do not see this exhaust often and, I like the look/sound of the older style exhausts.

Also, with Christmas being around the corner, I started collecting Hot Wheels to give to my nephews as presents. I did not want to buy this many, but it got addicting haha.
