Hey guys, I haven't been on this page in a while! I am having problems fitting my wheels and is a little bit too wide. BUT I think I can make it fit with a little modification. I hope everyone is doing well!



I would continue on talking about my car however, my car is not the topic for this particular blog. If you ever wonder what a kiwi (new zealand) car culture looks like? well this is it. This is pretty much what New Zealand car scene is all about. Peter Kelly from Speed Hunters, and a New Zealand Local, went to do a cover of our car show called "4 and Rotary Nationals". It is probably the only event in New Zealand where the owners really do something with their car with the hopes of putting their car on the stand. Putting the japanese culture aside and putting our New Zealand culture in, this is what our scene looks like. Please have a read and enjoy.

Day 3 of wheel restoring.. Polishing of the lip.

I added an extra layer of clearcoat today and left the wheel center under the sun.

What a day! I think my right arm is bigger now after sanding the lip then polishing it! haha! It took me half a day to restore them!

I sanded my wheels with 320 grit sandpaper, then I used 600 grit, then 800 grit and Finished with 2000 grit wet and sand... I Then applied AUTOSOL for polish.

After 5 hours! it is finally finished! hahaha I am happy with the outcome! also, somehow my wheels look a little orange. But really, they are just metallic gold.

This reminds me, I need to update my 'car maintenance' section for wheel restoration.

I painted the wheels today. The preparation was painful! A lot of sanding was required because the old paint had bubbles. It resulted in this -

I then taped the sides to cover the bolt holes so when I paint it it doesn't go to where the bolt goes.

After taping the sides, I sanded the centers a little bit more to even out the surface. I then sprayed a coat of Etch Primer. Etch primer was recommended for bare metal. I sprayed 2 layers of etch primer then proceeded onto spraying the acrylic filler primer to cover up the uneven surface for the final stage of painting.

I sprayed a thin later of my custom metallic gold, Then added more layers of it under the sun. It dried quick because of the heat. 1 hour later I sprayed 5 layers of clear coat. 1 coat for every 15 minutes.

I checked to see how the colour looks like with the rim. It looks good I think! Right now, I just need to wait 1 more sunny day to make sure the paint is cured and ready for buffing. Sorry about the dirty wheel Lip, I washed it but I didn't wipe it and it just dried like that. haha

Hey, I was thinking of getting silver or gold. I like the silver but I also like gold! haha Maybe I will try a custom gold this time? I tried the silver, Because the previous photo is photoshopped, It doesn't look the same in real life.. so I tried to make gold! haha
