90_mx is a backyard mechanic who enjoys fabricating stuff at a leisure pace. He was determined to craft a pair of retro bucket seats for his Roadster but was on a limited budget. Starting with a pair of inexpensive steel tube frame Konig V-Racing Buzz seats, 90_mx stripped them down to the bare essentials and built them back up again with new foam and upholstery. He even added removable head rests (from a BMW 3-series I believe). The vented grommets provide the finishing details for a 1960s-1970s period look. Job well done!

90_mx is very resourceful. Here has made his own custom style of fixed low-profile headlamps using projector beams and custom lids. I think it gives his car a very aggressive look.

Today I'd like to share with you this Classic Red NA Mazda Miata built by 90_mx. As you can see, he has taken many influences from the Japanese school of modifying but he maintains a clean, purposeful Roadster style. Like most enthusiasts, 90_mx has made many changes and improvements over the years: different steering wheels, mirrors, trunk spoiler, wheels, etc. Buying new parts and trying them out is one of the fun parts of tuning your car to suit your individual goal. My favorite part has to be his custom made retro seats.

Here is a behind the scenes sneak peak into the development of the Simpson Design Italia 2 GTB kit for the NB Mazda Roadster. As you can see, a lot of work goes into shaping the body and making the moulds.
