Today I'd like to share with you this Classic Red NA Mazda Miata built by 90_mx. As you can see, he has taken many influences from the Japanese school of modifying but he maintains a clean, purposeful Roadster style. Like most enthusiasts, 90_mx has made many changes and improvements over the years: different steering wheels, mirrors, trunk spoiler, wheels, etc. Buying new parts and trying them out is one of the fun parts of tuning your car to suit your individual goal. My favorite part has to be his custom made retro seats.

Here is a behind the scenes sneak peak into the development of the Simpson Design Italia 2 GTB kit for the NB Mazda Roadster. As you can see, a lot of work goes into shaping the body and making the moulds.

Moti @ Blackbird Fabworx has taken those famous words spoken by Lotus Cars founder, Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman, to heart. Here is his latest creation. In between customer car builds, Moti has turned a totally stock, unmolested 2002 NB8C Mazda Miata (with the VVT, 6 speed, 3.9 Torsen, sport brakes etc.) into a purpose built track demon. He has gone to extremes to save weight, eliminating anything and everything that is non-essential to driving on the track. Moti stripped over 631 lbs. from the curb weight before installing the roll cage, which added back another 100 lbs. or so of bent steel tubing. The car currently weighs 1,952 lbs., and Moti believes there is at least another 100 lbs. of weight savings to be had.
