Check out these new hood louver panels from Singular Motorsports. Born from the race track by Miataturbo.net member ThePass, they are the result of his extensive research and development program to keep his own turbocharged time-attack Miata cool in the summer heat. These CNC cut hood louvers enable NA and NB owners to convert their original equipment hood into a racing hood. The primary benefits are improved radiator efficiency and reduced lift at high speed. They look pretty cool, too!

The louvers panels ship flat and you must bend the louver vents yourself to the correct angle, cut the holes in your hood using the supplied template, drill mounting holes and secure with the supplied hardware.

The first batch sold out in minutes but there are plans to manufacture more soon for regular purchase. Initial price is $140 and they come unfinished so you can leave them bare metal or you can paint / powdercoat them to suit. I think anodized finish treatment would be very cool! You can easily accomplish this at home with a bucket of electrolyte solution, DC power supply and some color dye.

Just in time for the 25th anniversary celebration of Miatas at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, garageSTAR recently made 5 sets of rear wing support uprights and the mounts to attach them to the body. Perfect for time attack cars or any fast cars that need massive downforce at the race track.

The pictures show the uprights mounted to a Seibon Carbon GT wing element but they can also be used with other popular airfoils like the APR GTC-200 wing. The supports are height and width adjustable. The mounts are made of steel and the uprights are cut from 3/8" thick 6061 aluminum alloy using a CNC waterjet cutter. This first batch does not have the holes at the top of the support for changing the angle of attack but the next batch is promised to have the capability to adjust the angle of attack to alter the balance between downforce and drag.

Preparing a used BP4W motor to swap into my 1991 Miata. I have a long way to go but it will be nice to finally have a sufficient amount of power under my right foot.

These new drop spindles from Keisler Automation allow you to lower your Miata on the cheap or more appropriately correct the suspension geometry of your lowered race car. The raw spindles retail for $1,400 for a set of all 4. But you must also add Toyota MR2 front hubs, Mazda Miata rear hubs and bearings, tophat shock spacers (Nielex or ISC Racing) and/or longer shocks to take full advantage of them. Bump travel is still limited by the tire contacting the upper fenderwell but the extra room afforded by the drop spindles allows droop travel to increase approximately 1 inch (2.5cm), which equates to a 20-25% improvement. This means better tire contact over bumps and better traction exiting corners as both tires stay on the ground. The improved geometry corrects the roll center and improves bump steer. It also allows you to run less spring rate for the same roll stiffness, which means a more compliant ride without sacrificing responsiveness. This is a significant upgrade at significant cost but it is perfect for the racer who missed out on the opportunity to buy the Manatee Racing and Yaw Power spindles.

Specs for front drop spindles:

- Weighs 4.48 pounds vs. OEM 6.58 (32% lighter)

- Stronger than OEM spindles

- Machined from 6061-T6 aluminum

- Electroless nickel plating protective coating

- Accepts OEM ABS sensors

- Delrin upper bushings

- New hub bearings installed at no additional labor cost

- Fits NA and NB models
