ディスコですが、結果、何とか帰国まで乗り続けられるレベルで修理が出来ました。
本来であれば、エンジンを下ろしてオーバーホールする必要が有るレベルと言われましたが、残り半年程度と思われるアメリカ生活という事を伝え、最小限の修理に留めました。
トータルの修理費は、$1,821.87でした。
以下、詳細（そのまま英記します）

1. Client states smoke coming from under hood. Found throttle de'icer plate leaking coolant onto top of engine and exhaust system, also upper radiator horse and heater hoses need replacing.
- Throttle body defros: $29.83
- Radiator hose: $73.07
- Heater hose: $26.13
- Coolant: $21.95
- Labor: $362.50

2. 10W30, Oil & Filter only includes: Replacement of engine oil & Oil filter.
- 10W30 motor oil: $40.00
- Oil disposal: $6.00
- K&N oil filter gold: $15.95
- Oil drain seal: $1.44

3. Renew new front pads & rotors renew front brake pads & renew rotors. Includes: Replace brake pads, insect calipers, hard ware, and brake hoses. Replace rotors road test vehicleand performance test braking system.
- Brake Cleaner: $2.66
- Brake Disc: $228.94
- Brake pad set: 164.42
- Labor: $217.50
Subtotal: $613.52

4. Client states engine has whining noise when first started. Inspected and found air injection pump bad, also setting check engine codes. 1) Exaust valve powe amp open circuit. 2) Engine speed input signal intermittant missing. Suggest replacing air pump and clearing engine faut codes.

あと半年程度の生活で、この額のおかねを掛けて修理するか、廃車にしてジェッタの1台にするか迷いましたが、妻の不自由、自分の不自由も考慮して、修理する事にしました。
この車の市場の買取価格を見ると、$2,000～$2,500程度なので、売却時には修理代にもならないかも知れません。

ちなみにアメリカでは、Keley blue bookというサイトが有り、市場での個人売買の相場や業者での買い取り相場などが調べられます。みんなこのサイトから金額を確認して売買しています。
