Hi,
Just wanted to share with you how I bought the Primera, why a Primera and other stuff :-)
First of all, I love all cars but I've been a Nissan fan ever since the old Gran Turismo games, especially GT1 and GT2. Nissan had a lot of great cars in the game that did not exist in France, with enormous potential, and I also liked the fact that Nissan makes all kinds of cars, from the small city car to the big 4x4 and onto sportscars and supercars like the R390. They just made a car for each and everyone.
Even though I loved the brand for so long, I never had a Nissan, mostly drove Peugeot, Alfa Romeo from my parents and an old Mitsubishi. When I decided to buy a car, I looked at older models, not just because they are cheaper but because I like them a lot more than the current type of cars Nissan has on sale here (Juke, Leak, Qashqai...).
I wanted either an S12 Silvia or a Primera P10. After a while, keeping an eye on the used car market, I spotted a white one 500km away from home and went to pick it up with my brother. When I saw it, I knew I had to buy it. The initial test drive was weird, after all these years driving diesel cars, I wasn't used to having a 7500rpm redline, so I was driving it like a grand father! The P10 GT makes peak torque around 5.000 rpm, a velocity you never reach in a diesel.
I wanted a gasoline powered car, I wanted a Nissan and the P10 is rare on the roads so it was perfect.
The original owner had the car for 17 years and in that span he drove only 55.000 km. I have all the receipts, he kept taking it to a garage there which later became an official Nissan dealer, he was very meticulous and took great care of the Primera. When that man passed away, his sister got the car which was used by her husband with less care :-P In just 5 years he drove 40.000 km and when I saw the car it was clear it had been staying outside a while.
But now the car's with me and I intend to treat it like its first owner. I don't think I'll ever sell it, but I might add another Nissan to keep it company, we'll see :-)
By the way, minkara.carview.co.jp has been an inspiration, there are some amazing Primeras here :-)
Forgive me for not typing in japanese :-(
