１９４５年８月１５日に、日本は連合軍に降伏し、第二次世界大戦は終結した日である。この日、日本人は配線を報告する裕仁天皇の声を初めてラジオで聴いたのでした。毎年、８月１５日は終戦記念日と呼ばれ、戦没者慰霊集会が各地で行われる。
August 15th 1945, was the day Japan surrendered to the Allied Forces, and the Second World War came to an end. That was the first time Japanese people could hear the voice of Emperor Hirohito on the radio, when he announced that Japan had lost the war. This day is now called “Shusen-Kinenbi” that means the day of the end of World War II in Japan, and many events are held in Japan on this day to memorialize those who died in the war.
