　　 肯定不能考名牌大学的中文系。为什么三个人如此快速地一起作出这种判断，现在回想起来还不大能够理解。大概是觉得中文系里闹不出一个极有意思的工作，或者是觉得我们在中学早已把《离骚》、《论语》和几十篇古文背得滚瓜烂熟，难道到大学里再去做这种令人厌烦的事？张同学说：“我刚读过郭沫若的自传，连他也没有上过中文系！”丁同学说：“巴金也没有。”

　　 那天的初步意向，我应该报考外文系，至于哪个大学的外文系最好，还要分头打听。

　　 班级里三十个人，我被分在第一小组。坐在我后面的同学叫曲信先，他就是郭沫若推荐来的那一位；我的邻座叫李小林，巴金的女儿。
