世界遺産「紀伊山地の霊場と参詣道」は広い。
これまで高野山と吉野は何度もいったが、まだ行ってない所が今回の熊野である。
うちからは一番遠い所。
地図で見るとそうでもないように思えるのだが微妙に遠いのである。
高速道路がないのもその理由の一つなのである。

とりあえず、いつものように西名阪の香芝SAでパンを購入。
後は下道で、168号線をひたすら南下。
すると、道の駅「吉野路大塔」にたどり着く。
ここは星の里ということでプラネタリウムがあったり、天体観測のできる宿泊施設もあるみたい。
さらに168を南下。
川に沿って走るのだが道幅が細くて結構スリリング。
で、次にたどり着いたのが道の駅「十津川郷」。
この辺は温泉地らしく、道の駅にも足湯があったのでまったりと浸かった。
そしてまた山の中を南下。
道路のすぐ横が滝になってるなんてすごい。
こんな細くてくねくねした道を走りようやく道の駅「奥熊野古道ほんぐう」に着く。
ここで、おそばをいただく。
また、ちょっとだけ走って、目的地の熊野本宮にようやく到着。
自宅から約４時間。
帰りは、311号線で紀伊田辺まででて、後は阪和道でバキューンと帰りました。

この世界遺産にはまだまだ未踏のルートがたくさん。
全走破したいな。


As I wrote before, the UNESCO World Heritage, Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range (紀伊山地の霊場と参詣道), has very wide area. The world heritage consists of three big areas, Yoshino (吉野), Kumano (熊野), Koya-san (高野山). I had visited Yoshino and Koya-san already, so I tried to visit the remained area, Kumano in Wakayama. Kumano is the farest area from my town. I usually drove on the West-MeiHan (西名阪) High Way. In Kashiba (香芝) SA I bought my favorite breads there. And I drove on Route 168 towards the south, then I found the station on the road “Yoshino-ji Ootoh”, 道の駅「吉野路大塔」. Here seems to be the village of stars. There are astronomical telescopes and planetarium. Moreover I drove on the narrow and terrible route in mountains, and I arrived the next station “Totsukawa Go”, 道の駅「十津川郷」. Here is a hot springs town, I could enjoy a footbath (足湯). I drove again, there is a place on the route such that left side of the road is a river and the other side is a fall. After pass the station, 道の駅「奥熊野古道ほんぐう」, finally I could reach the goal, Kumano Shrine (熊野本宮大社).

今日はドライブ日和で、オープン日和でしたね〜。
今日だけでもオープンで走ってた車を６台か７台くらい見かけました。

今日も東に向かいました。
今日は何やら暴走族の方々が結構な数の集団で走っておられました。
西名阪でいつものように東へと向かって、香芝SAで大量に溢れかえってる族さん見ながらミルクパンをムシャムシャと食べましたよ。そんで、今日はどこへ行こうかとナビをいじってると、津風呂湖なる湖を発見！湖には何か惹かれるものがありますよね？ということで、いざ津風呂湖へ、ビュ〜ンと。。。だんだん細っい道を。。。
着いてみると、結構綺麗な景色でちょっとテンションアップ。しかし寂れた観光地感が漂う。まだ寒いからか。。。交通の便悪いんやろな。。。釣りしてる人は少しいてましたが。。。
とりあえず、湖に沿って走ってる道を行く。細いよ、汚いよ。。。誰もいないし、すれ違う車も無しなので道の真ん中に車を止めて撮影したり。この湖はダムになってるんですが、その上を通り細い道をテキトーにどんどん進んでくと、吊り橋が！車ではここで行き止まりですな。
その吊り橋の名は「みかえり橋」だそうで、10人以上同時に渡っちゃダメよ！の看板が。当然、車から降りて渡りましたよ。吊り橋の真ん中辺りまできて結構な絶景に超テンションアップ！おまけに、自分一人だけの世界、誰もいない。音も自分が出す音とトンビの鳴き声だけの静寂の世界！
ということで、ここでパンをムシャムシャとお昼ご飯。贅沢ですな。早朝とか夕暮れやったらもっと綺麗なんやろな〜。
そして、何とか車を転回させて湖を後に。まだお昼過ぎなので、再びテキトーに走ってみたら国道169号線を走ってた。どうも大台ケ原、熊野方面に自分は向かってるらしいが、だんだん寒くなってきた。大台ケ原への道は冬期閉鎖中とのことで山肌には雪が少し残ってる。そらオープンで走ってたら寒いわな。それでもまだ169を進むが。。。途中でリタイア。今日はこれくらいにしといたろ。ということで引き返す。あ、リベンジは必ずしますよ。
帰りも西名阪の香芝SAによると、また暴走族の方達が大量に。今度はパトカー数台も一緒にいてましたが。

今日もええドライブやった。


The day was a very fine one for a convertible car. I could see six or seven convertibles that day. When I drive on the West-MeiHan (西名阪) High Way I usually see bike gangs. There were one or two hundreds biker boys and girls, their age were about twenty or thirty. It seems that age of baike gangs member is getting older.
I found a beautiful lake, Lake Tsuhuro (津風呂湖). The lake lies in Yoshino in Nara. But it is not at the center of Yoshino and it is in an inconvenient place. Thus, when I visited there, I could only see several people. I drove along the lake, then a catenary bridge appeared. A car cannot run on the bridge. That is it is a dead end. The placard said you should not cross the bridge with over 10 people at same time. The bridge is called Mikaeri Bridge (みかえり橋). I got out of my car and crossed the bridge on foot. I got a very beautiful view at the middle of the bridge. The only sound was a bird singing. It was an amazing place. There was no one there except for me. I could feel the beauty of nature, and could spend a very comfortable time.

本日はなんとなく奈良県の吉野にふらりと行ってきました。特に目指す目的地もなく行ったので、吉野川に沿ってふらふらと走り、東の方に行く程交通量も少なくなり、結構楽しいドライブでした。川の水も澄んでいて綺麗。
今日はめずらしくRHTのロードスターを２台も見かけてしまいました。


Then I went to the Kinpusen Temple (金峯山寺) on the Mt. Yoshino. The temple is Syugendo (修験道, Japanese mountain asceticism-shamanism incorporating Shinto and Buddhist concepts) temple. Syugensya (修験者) (or Yamabushi (山伏), alternatively) is a people who disciplines in the mountains. Here is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage, Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range (紀伊山地の霊場と参詣道), which consists of sacred sites (霊場) and pilgrimage routes (参詣道) in Nara, Wakayama and Mie Prefectures. It is too wide to visit all. But many syugensyas disciplined in the wide area since Nara era.

今回は奥琵琶湖までいってまいりました。

　高速の近畿道ー名神ー北陸道のルートでいったけども、高速の出口で降り損ねて敦賀までいってしまった。。。この辺りまで来るとさすがに日本海側で、道路脇には雪が積まれてたけど、路面には雪がなかったのでノーマルタイヤでもあっさり走行できて助かった。結局行き過ぎたので、仕方なくちょこっとだけ引き返して琵琶湖の北部ヘ。。。
　琵琶湖を横目に湖岸沿いに南下して、道の駅「湖北みずどりステーション」に到着。三脚もってうろうろしてる方々が結構いてたので風景の撮影してるのかと思いきや、ここは野鳥で有名で、三脚に着けた望遠鏡覗いてるバードウォッチャーの方々でした。ここで風景写真を少々。「湖北野鳥・風景写真コンテスト」なるものがあるらしく、応募しようかなと思案中。。。


This Sunday I tried to go to the North area of Lake Biwa (琵琶湖) in Shiga. Lake Biwa is the third oldest lake all over the world. By the way, the oldest lake is Lake Bikal (バイカル湖) in Russia, and the second is Lake Tanganyika (タンガニーカ湖) in Central Africa.
I used the highway to go there, so I missed the exit and went to Tsuruga (敦賀) in Fukui. As Tsuruga lays on the side of the Sea of Japan, that is snow country, there was a lot of snow on the side of the road. But I could reach Lake Biwa by car with normal tires. I drove on Kogan Road (湖岸道路) toward the south along the lake. Then I arrived at a station on the road, Kohoku Water Bird Station, (道の駅「湖北みずどりステーション」). As several people had a tripod, I thought them photographers. But, actually, they were bird watchers and had a telescope on a tripod, not a camera. At the station I knew that there was a photo contest. I thought that I want to enter the contest. If I can take time I will visit there again to take photos for the contest. The island which is in center of the following right picture is called Chikubu Island (竹生島). Although I wanted to visit the island I could not. This island has Chikubu Jima Shrine (竹生島神社), Ho-Gon Temple (宝厳寺) and several souvenir shops. But the island is a desert island. If I have an opportunity I want to visit there too.

　

今日は絶好のドライブ日和。
いつも目的地不明のままふら〜っと出発することが多いのだが、今日は数日前から行こうと決めていた和歌山の紀伊大島へ。

阪和道で紀伊田辺まで南下し、そこから国道42号線（熊野街道）を走る。
途中から海と雲一つない青空、そしてその境界である水平線が右手に広がり、テンションぐ〜んとアップ。
42号線好きになりましたよ。
大島に行く前に、ご近所の本州の最南端である潮岬に立ち寄る。
観光地でにぎわってるのかと思いきや、以外と人も少なく、釣り人がちらほらと。
やっぱり交通の便が悪いんやね。。。
景色に満足して次は大島へ。

10年程前に掛けられた橋のおかげですんなりと大島へ渡れ、
とりあえず、樫野崎のトルコ記念館へ行き、日土関係の歴史についてお勉強。
この辺りの景色にノスタルジーのような物を感じ、いい気分。
ついでに、日米修好記念館にも行ったら、受付のおばちゃんがいい感じ。
大島の歴史などいろいろ説明してくれ、自分が生まれた頃はまだ雨水や井戸水で生活してたそうな。。。
飴ちゃんもくれたし、おばちゃん、おおきに。
おばちゃんに近くにある海金剛なる物を見ることを進められ見に行くと納得した。
海の中に浮かぶ金剛山。
この島も好きになりました。

帰りは同じルートで、夕日に照らされた太平洋を左手に見ながらのドライブ。
今日は最高の景色を満喫できた一日だった。
またいつか行こう。

しかし、世界遺産”紀伊山地の霊場と参詣道”って広すぎ。

I went to Shiono Misaki (潮岬) and Oshima (大島) in Wakayama last Sunday. Shiono Misaki is located on the south edge of Honsyu island (本州). Although it is a viewing spot, the number of visitors was less. The transportation is inconvenient. Moreover there is no Highway. The day was a very nice day for driving. The blue sky, the Pacific Ocean and horizon were so beautiful. As Route 42 is along the coast I could enjoy driving and watching the very beautiful view. After visiting Shiono Misaki, I went to Oshima island. In 1999 the bridge was built between Shiono Misaki in Honsyu island and Oshima island. In Oshima I visited Turk Memorial (トルコ記念館) and Japan-US Amity Memorial (日米修好記念館). In 1890 The Turkish warship, Ertuğrul frigate (エルトゥールル号), sunk in front of Oshima by a storm. Then People in Oshima helped and cared for the sailors of the ship. Sixty nine sailors were saved, but about 550 died. On the other hand, just before the Iran-Iraq War (1985), 215 Japanese people who had stayed in Iran were saved by Turkish Airline.
