This weekend’s destination was Soni Highland (曽爾高原) in Nara. First I drove on the Meihan Road (名阪国道). The road has one of the largest parking areas, Michi no Eki Hari T・R・S (Tea Time Resort Station) (道の駅針テラス), which can park 500 cars. It is also a famous place where there are a lot of large bikes. Recently most riders are middle aged ones who are very cool. On the other hand, the number of young riders is less than middle aged ones obviously. Although the bike was for young people 20 years ago. I think it is because of economic depression. But I also think I want to age like the middle age riders.
I went to Kyoto this weekend. I got up at 6:00 AM, and departed at 6:30 AM to Kyoto. The sky was still dark. I could see the sun rise on the highway, although I wanted to see it at Kyoto. I must get up earlier on the next trip. First, I went to Arashiyama (嵐山). I passed through Togetsukyo (渡月橋), the famous moon crossing bridge at Arashiyama, and went to the winding road, Arashiayama - Takao parkway (嵐山-高雄パークウェイ). When I stopped my car at the parking area on the road and took photos of Kyoto view, a man who drove a green car talked to me. He said his green classic car is Lotus Elan and the first generation of Mazda Roadster was inspired by Lotus Elan. Actually, those are very similar as the following pictures.
On sunday (25th), I visited Suma Rikyu Park (須磨離宮公園) in Kobe. The park has a botanical garden. When I visited there the roses were very beautiful. About 180 kinds of roses are in the garden. Thus there were many photographers and painters there. As the park has playing area for children, many children and their parents were also there. The park is located on Mt. Tsukimiyama (月見山), I could also see a good sea view.
This week, I went to Himeji. Himeji Castle (姫路城) is famous and has been nominated for the UNESCO World Heritage. I climbed to the top of the castle.
This week’s destination was Ise (伊勢) in Mie Prefecture. I drove about 3 hours to Ise. First, I visited Ise Grand Shrine (伊勢神宮). Before reaching the shrine, a funny town lies as the front town of the shrine. The town is called Okage Yokocho (おかげ横町). All of the architectures in the town are Edo or Meiji era taste, and have good vibes. The town has many shops, and tourists can enjoy there. I took a Cake Set at Isuzu-gawa (五十鈴川) cafe in the town. The café has a good view of the river. I thought I wanted to visit here again. ![]() |
