Unfortunately, the 31st and 1st were bad weather, we got a snowstorm by cold wave. As snow collected deeply, it was difficult to ski using my short length skis. When I skied my skis sank under the snow. At 31st night there was a New Year’s Count Down Ceremony at the Ichinose ski area. We could enjoy fireworks. But ski-train with a Taimatsu (松明) was omitted this year, because of deep collected snow. Many cars also were covered with snow. The temperature was –11℃. I ate cake every day through on the trip, so it seems I got a little fat.
I went to Shiga Kogen (志賀高原) from 30th December to 2nd January. It is the largest ski area in Japan and its altitude is about 2,000 meter high. The 30th was a nice day, so the mountain view was very beautiful as in the following pictures. Of course I enjoyed skiing, but because of my sports-less life, my legs were exhausted. I think the following every year; I have to do some exercise…
As usual I went driving last Sunday. First I went to Nara Park (奈良公園). On the West MeiHan (西名阪) Highway, when I drove my car at about 110 km/h, a silver car passed my car. Probably, the speed of the silver one was over 130 km/h. Just after the silver one passed me, suddenly a white car showed a red light and ordered the silver one to stop. That is the white one was a unmasked police car. I have to be careful about speeding. After this, I took break at Kashiba (香芝) SA. I saw famous Mr. Sento (せんとくん) and took photos of him there. Then, I arrived at Nara Park, It was very cold and snowy day. The top of Mt. Wakakusa (若草山) was covered with snow as the following pictures.![]() |
