Fresh As F*ck!

You all remember this dope Shuttle right? Last time we featured Abe-san's Shuttle the responses we received were overwhelmingly positive and since our photographer Shota Mori happens to be really good friends with the owner, we figured you would like to see where the car is nowadays. It's still got that clean & simple look going for it except the fitment is even more aggressive this time around! As with most cars that we feature from Japan, this thing rolls around with it's frame less than an inch off the ground at all times and throws sparks on practically flat surface. Check out more photos below.

Just as we told you, the new wheel setup is even more aggressive. Abe-sans old set up were a set of Work Equip 03′s in 15×8 & 15×9 with 165/45/15 and 165/50/15′s tires. New specs of the Hayashi Racing rims is 15x8.5 -6 in the front and 15x9.5 -19 in the rear wrapped in the same spec tires, 165/45/15 and 165/50/15′s. Check out that crazy stretch on the rear tires in the image below!

Make sure you check the very first feature we did on this thing by clicking here. We stronglry urge you to click the Read More button below as we have some nice rolling shots as well as a couple of Abe-San's friends Hondas rolling extremely low throughout the streets of Japan! Until next time!

Far from perfect...

As the title says, this '82 Rabbit is far from perfect, but it's wheel fitment game is as on point as it gets. It belongs to Dustin Pannone out of Pennsylvania and luckily when he came out for H2Oi couple of days ago he was able to get together with our photographer Ronaldo Stewart for some quality photos! We don't really know Dustin like that, but it's obvious that he built the car to his liking, no one else's. So instead of trying to convince you to like this slammed Rabbit, we will just let the photos and specs do the talking. What we will say though is that no matter what your budget is, if you have the right vision and any kind of automotive knowledge, you too can build yourself a really awesome ride. Money does play a huge roll but you've got to learn to work with what you have.

The 1.6L NA diesel was converted to turbo diesel and Dustin also threw up a 2.5" turbo back straight pipe just because. He actually plans on upgrading to a true turbo diesel engine swap running on 30psi of boost (which is already being built). While that sounds like some serious fun, what most of you are probably enjoying right now is the way this thing sits. Bags are pretty much a norm in the Euro community, but Dustin is actually rolling on Raceland coilovers and then some. He modified the early strut mounts by extended them by 1.5", the driver side axle was shortened 5/8" to solve axle binding issues, rear swaybar was added and the list keeps going. Last but not least came the shoes!

Dustin's choice were a set of Diamond Racing steelies in 15x8 (12) with 165/50 tires all around. Not the most original setup out there, but a touch of custom paint set these apart from others. Besides things like 16v Scirroco front brakes and MK2 recaro seats, most of the other stuff that was added is all relatively small and simple. Just like we always say, less is more. Big shout out to Dustin as well as Ronaldo for making this happen and we hope that this slammed ol' thing inspires some of you! H20i 2011 Photo Coverage // Part 1

Yes, this is one of those events that truly doesnt need an introduction. It's been around for years, it brings together 100's and 100's of euro car enthusiasts and the party's after dark never stop. This year around our photographer Ronaldo Stewart was kind enough to snap a few shots for all of us to check out. It looks like the quality as well as quantity of cars keeps going up every year. We'll take a look at more of H2Oi coverage throughout the next few days so make sure you come back for more!

Seriously Inspiring.

It's hard to believe that this '51 Chevrolet COE truck is currently sitting in the small town of Oude Pekela, located in the north eastern part of Holland. What makes this build even more special is the story behind it. It all started back in '94 when Koos attended a US car show in Sweden. There he purchased a American Rodder magazine where he first laid his eyes on a COE truck. It was love at first sight and he knew right away that he would own one some day. Fast forward to '00 when things started looking good. He got a tip about a possible 1972 GMC ½ pickup long bed that was imported from Canada to Holland that he eventually ended up buying it. The chassis was good, but the body not so much. Not a problem though as Koos already had an eye on something that he has been wanting for many years, a '51 Chevy COE cab. The only issue was that it was located about 5,000 miles west.

Actually, you would think that it would have been an issue, but it wasn't. You see, no distance will ever come in a way of something you truly love. Koos got a on a plane and flew to Idaho, USA. He rented a U-Haul truck, picked up the cab and transported it to the San Francisco harbour where it was eventually put on a ship and sent back to Holland! Some of you are probably asking yourselves why he didn't restore it and turn it into some show car, and that's where it get's even better. Before the cab even arrived back home Koos already had a 1969 Jeep Wagoneer that was trying to have as a daily driver. Unfortunately that didn't work out too well as the Jeep was breaking down all the times and costing a ton of money to keep fixing. He then put the Jeep to the side and started working on the '51 COE. He initially wanted to repaint the truck and the whole nine yards, but at the time the "rat rod" look was blowing up in Europe so Koos decided to keep as much of the original 50+ years old paint as possible.

And so the build began. We urge you to check out a few build photos by clicking here, you'll be inspired. After facing many challenges and a ton of hard work, his dream truck was finally ready to be unveiled. Since then it has been shown on dozens of websites and several magazines and has gained plenty of respect and reputation from some of the finest automotive builders in Europe. Hit the Read More button below to take a closer look at this unique truck with us!

The engine was not really changed as it is a insanely huge 7.5L V8 (Buick 455). Front wheels came off of an older Chevy and were widened from 15x7.5 to 15x8.75 in the front while the rears are from a '91 Caprice that were widened from 15x7 to 15x15! The rear axles comes from a 1979 Pontiac. He then proceeded to make the chassis 10cm shorter at the front. For more legroom he moved that big ol' motor back about 80cm and he lowered it 20cm in the chassis. The list goes on, but every little thing was either swapped out or custom made to really be a one off a kind truck.

The flat bed is home made. All the wood for the bed was made and then put on the roof of his garage during the winter to get that "old look". When asked what kind of reaction he gets driving this thing around he tells us that necks break left and right and so do the cameras! In case you are wondering how often the car gets driven, Koos says that he recently made a trip to Sweden which is about 2,000 miles! He attended several car shows and as we said before, it received a ton of positive feedback from some of the best builders around. It's seriously an amazing build that deserves a ton of exposure.

The whole build took about 1745 hours and lasted from November 7th, 2004 all the way to September 9th, 2007! He wants to thank his girlfriend Harmke, his dad and friends Engel Smit and Arnold for everything that they've done for him. It is truly an honor to show off this car with our fans and we sure hope that you guys enjoy it as much as we do. Big shout out to Ronald Veth for the photos and of course Koos for agreeing to make this feature happen! Until next time everyone!

Just because..

k day!! 2011 Photo Coverage // Part 1

Our good friend Takeshi (type_k autosource owner) recently contacted us about collaborating for an upcoming car show/meet that he was organizing, known as "k day!!". We happily created some custom stickers and helped him a bit with promoting the event. Takeshi is the same guy who was responsible for organizing the very successful USDM Jam event which we recently covered here. Actually, "k day!!" is pretty similar to USDM Jam. It's an event created to bring all the "USDM" guys together, and we gotta say that most of the cars that came out looked pretty damn impressive! Roof racks, stickers, Cali/Hawaii plates, and lots of USDM exterior swaps were present. The event brought out a couple hundred cars and luckily our photographer Kazuki Hirota was able to cover it for us. We will break this coverage down in a couple pieces as there are way too many photos to fit in one post. Big shout out to Takeshi and all our other friends and fans in Japan. Stay tuned for more coverage!
