This Hackintosh Project is based on my personal experience and for personal experiments. It is not recommended in any way and this may cause critical errors to your hardwares and self to declare to take any claim whatsoever by you following the same procedures written below.


There certainly is a situation that our HP mini 2140 is kinda left behind compared to Dell and MSI Wind and other netbooks. Today I'm gonna share my experience for those who don't know. Oh, for those who knows please skip below. Also this Hachintosh reports seems not encouraging any audiences so your comments are greatly appreciated to keep up my motivation for further development.

FYI Mac OS is the only OS that I have no experience other than Multi Boot System.



General Procedures

A) Atom Processor : Cutomizing(Re-Building) the Kernel will do good enough.

B) Kernel : So Get it on the net!

C) USB : Recover the device driver to 10.6.2 via MultiBeast.

Preparations

A) Prepare (Download) above items.

B) Your good Laptop HP mini 2140

C) Aux. USB 2.5 inch HDD

D) Carbon Copy Cloner（CCC）

E) 10.6.6 Combo Update

F) Pacifist

Step-By-Step Procedures

A) Backup your current environment and then make a clone in your Aux. USD HDD via CCC. Is muuuuchhh faster than using Disk Utility!!! Also I recommend you to remove everything from your temporary folders and Trash Bins and etc. to reduce size.

B) After A) remove the original HDD and replace it with the Cloned HDD and confirm booting of the OS. This procedure depends on the version of CCC so please don't forget to confirm.

C) Download the Customized Kernel and rename it to "mach_kernel.atom". This Kernel move to "/"

D) Type below commands via Terminal;

$ cd /
$ sudo cp mach_kernel mach_kernel.bak
$ sudo chown 0:0 mach_kernel.bak
$ sudo chown 0:0 mach_kernel.atom
$ sudo chmod 644 mach_kernel.atom

Please note sudo command requires your root password.

E) Upgrade to 10.6.6 via Combo Update will take about an hour or so... Go sit back and drink your coffee or go to bed and your good HP mini 2140 will ask you to reboot your device when you wake up next morning but NEVER EVER REBOOT NOW!!! as always LOL You all know this is a normal procedure don't you?

F) Recovering the USB Drivers via MultiBeast and run Pacifist and drag MultiBeast on Pacifist and you'll see what's inside so install "Drivers & Bootloaders/Kexts & Enablers/Miscellaneous/IOUSBFamily Rollback" and you're done with Pacifist.

G) Open DSDT Patcher and you'll a Terminal like UI with some queries so just answer them as this is initial procedure, then find "DSDT patcher/Debug/DSDT.dsl" which should have been generated and copy to the "/Extra" directory.

H) Reboot and you're done!!

Easy isn't it??

I've gathered all the information on the net and found this procedure is easiest. Please spread this entry to all HP mini 2140 Hackntoshers and enjoy your Hackintosh Life!!!
