A puzzled-looking Caucasian guy approached me
with a question at the parking fare machine of
the outlet mall in 三重県.
He wanted to get his parking fee paid just like
I did at the machine.
"Sure, you got your ticket?" I asked,
turning my face to him.
He looked surprised, passing me his parking ticket,
"Oh, you speak English? Good."
I smiled at him as I inserted the ticket into the machine.
This time was me who got surprised because the
machine was rejecting his ticket.
"Why is rejecting?" I wondered and tried to insert
into a different machine.
I shrugged my shoulders and asked him, "Did you get
validation at a shop?"
"Nope," said he.
"Oh, that is why," I said, "You need to get your ticket
validated at a store with a receipt."
As I gave him his ticket back and asked,
"Do you still have a receipt?"
"Yes! Thanks man!" he answered with a smile.
"No problem," I replied.
That was what happed when leaving the mall.
The thing was I forgot to tell him that to get validation
it was required a purchase of 3K yen or more.
