The audit was over with no major findings.
The auditors arrived 10 minutes after the proposed time.
The American auditor found me in the crowd and came up on me by shaking hands.
I immediately realized that he was in a good mood today.
When hot coffee was served, the american auditor said, "ARIGATOUGOZAIMASU” in Japanese.
"Wow, your Japanese is getting better now, uh?" said I.
He smiled. I added, "We have to catch up with that!" He even laughed.
The rest of audit went easy.
In the afternoon, I had to do some errands so I let my colleagues attend the audit.
When I came back, the American auditor became sarcastic by saying, "Oh, you abandoned us! This is going to be a major finding!"
I quickly realized he was kidding because at the wrap up meeting there was no major finding.
I told him that I was glad he didn't put a major finding of abandoning the auditor.
He laughed and said, "I realized that how much you took care of the past audits because no one really understood my simple questions!"
"Oh, what a shame," I said.
"I know," he replied and reached out his hand.
We shook hands tight. "This may be my last audit," he said.
That was kind of an emotional moment.
