cut into (thirds/quarters)
....halfは単数、third/quarterは複数

cut(現在) - cut(過去) - cut(過去分詞)
人が主語のときは、三人称単数でcut。cutsとは言わないらしい。

His girlfriend is eating one half of the orange.

almostは動詞の前と後に来る違いが分かりません。
The apple weighs almost as much as the orange.
The dress costs almost ninety dollars.
The girl is almost as tall as her brother.
The pen is almost threee and half inches long.
