This video shows the mirror tilt down module working... sorry that the quality of the video is bad :)

Here are the new seat backs! The leather matches very well, the only thing that is different is that it is too new compared to the rest of the seat :)


Today I installed the KPTechnologies mirror tilt module. You have to remove the panel under the dash to access the mirror plug and wiring harness. I get very nervous taking apart the G35!


There are 8 wires total that need to be installed. I carefully soldered and put heat shrink tubing over all connections. Here is a picture of on of the connections-



The mirror module works great! Tomorrow I will post a video of it working - I am very happy with it!

I also worked on the S13 a little today, and took pictures of some of the parts I installed yesterday. Here is a picture of the painted valve cover and coilpack cover, and the Blitz upper radiator hose.


I also replaced the high pressure power steering line with the Earl's fittings line. The line fits much better into the engine bay and looks a lot cleaner as well. My original line was broken and had a small leak.


Finally, I installed the Kazama under protector - very easy to install! I think it will help protect the oil pan because the car is very low :)


I also installed the boost and water temp gauges, but I still need to make a gauge holder. I placed the gauges in the center air conditioner area. I have no air conditioning since the car is for racing only, so I removed the center air conditioning vents and placed the gauges there. I think this is a common modification. I will take pictures when it is finished next weekend.

Today I took my G35 to the upholstery shop and had the seat skin changed. They removed the panel on the front seats that had the "Infiniti" badge and name, and replaced it with blank leather. It was too dark to take a picture of the seats in the car, I will do that tomorrow - I think it came out great! The leather choice matches very well! Here is a picture of the Infiniti panels I will send to Keizo.


I also received a grille from my friend that has been modified, and has no center emblem. It is currently painted close to the same color as my car (it is not a good match), but I think tomorrow I will paint it black and see what it looks like.


Yesterday I received a mirror tilt down module. When I put the car into reverse the side mirror on the passenger side will tilt down to an angle I set. Then when I take it out of reverse the mirror will return to it's original setting. This option is not available on USDM cars, so an aftermarket company sells this part. I will try to install it tomorrow.


I also worked on the s13 today, but unfortunately I forgot to bring my camera. I will take pictures and make another post tomorrow.

More new parts arrived today for my s13! I received the Tomei rocker arm stoppers, Blitz upper radiator hose, and Nismo shift knob. The Tomei rocker arm stoppers are much better quality than the Greddy parts. They are much thicker (you are able to easily bend the Greddy parts) and have a protective coating on them - and both parts are correct this time! The Nismo shift knob is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, hopefully it is comfortable to use.

Today I received my boost gauge and water temp gauge for the s13 (both are 60mm in size). They are the STRI X-Line series, and have a smoked outer glass and amber light when illuminated (simialr to the Defi gauges, but much cheaper in price). I was going to buy a gauge pod for the pillar, but I think it will be in the way of the future roll cage, so I will need to mount the gauges on the dash.

I also received a braided and jacketed high pressure power steering line. The high pressure line is very expensive to replace with factory parts and is prone to leaking (mine is leaking now) - this part is custom built by Earl's fittings/hoses for track cars. I plan on installing these parts this weekend.



My gauges are in Fahrenheit and psi, the pictures above are from the STRI website.

Today I ordered a Blitz upper radiator hose with a built in fitting for the water temp sensor and Tomei rocker arm stoppers (to replace the poor fitting Greddy rocker arm stoppers I installed last weekend). Those parts should arrive tomorrow.
