I received my new connecting rods... they are Eagle Forged rods and are rated to last above 600hp! They also came with ARP rod bolts, which are very strong! This will be an NA build, so I do not need the parts to be strong because of the power output - but because I will rev the engine a lot higher (close to 9000rpm, or whenever it stops making power). The Cosworth heads I plan on buying are built to rev to over 10,000rpm safely!!!

We are building a high compression NA engine for the G35. We purchased a used vq35de motor that we are going to have machined, and we'll build that up.

My pistons got here today... they're Wiseco forged 96mm 11:1 compression ratio. Unfortunately the rods were damaged during shipping, so they shipped another set out due to arrive Friday. Yesterday I got my gasket kit and revup oil pump. On the way I have Eagle rods, ARP main/head studs, upper oil pan, water pump, timing chain set, and front and back timing cover. I'll be ordering Cosworth heads, some very aggressive cams, race bearings, and a bunch of other misc stuff I'm sure.

I have been preparing the G35 for more serious racing, and have removed all of the interior parts that are allowed in my racing class. I also removed all of the sound deadening and seam sealant, and this past weekend we began to stitch weld the inner panels to increase the chassis strength. We will also weld the trunk and front engine bay, including the shock towers. Once we complete the stitch welding we will install the roll cage.

Today I installed quarter turn fasteners on my front bumper. These fasteners replace the bolts and brackets that normally secure the bumper to the fenders, and are very easy to disconnect. The purpose is to allow for quick removal of the front bumper to access the multiple cooler cores and allow for clearance of a large floor jack at racing events.

The bumper can now be removed without the need to remove the inner wheel lining!

About 1 month ago I was invited to a photo shoot and interview about Team Rare JDM and the Rare JDM company. Motion magazine is an industry magazine that is read by the distributors, dealers, and manufacturers of parts and accessories. It turned out to be a much larger photo shoot than I expected!
