What we found pretty strange recently was that majority of the Japanese "Euro" car owners are all telling us that their inspiration comes straight from the states. We could kind of see that in these photos. They are just a bunch of random photos of cars rolling in to the annual AF Imp Super Carnival in Japan just a couple of days ago. One of the cars the stole our hearts right away would be that sexy white BMW M3 in 3rd and 4th photos. However, most of these cars are just drop dead gorgeous and it is an honor to share them with you. Big ups to AF Imp for putting on yet another successful show (which you'll see more off tonight) and a big thank you to our friend Toribosi Araki for the photos! For those who have met Nick and seen his previous 240 in person, you'll know that it was way different from all of the other cars out there in the scene today. It wasn't perfect but there was just something totally raw about it that everyone loved. Not to mention the fact that he was extremely low...and static. His new 240 coupe isn't any different. It still had the same raw feel that most cars fail to have. As I sat in the passenger seat, you could feel and hear the scraping of his subframe as we cruised around town looking for a shooting spot. As the car scraped we both would gasp from the harsh metal sound but at the same time couldn't help but to laugh at how crazy it was. It was just a fun car to be in. Nick himself is an awesome kid and I believe everyone should get a chance to meet him. He is on a whole other level and we definitely need more kids like him around the "scene". Check out this short video below.

For this shoot, I decided to try out something different. Instead of just shooting a car rigged up or parked in front of something cool with blasts of strobes, I wanted to include the driver and his local town to create a "real image" and tell a story. I used only natural lighting to get a "real" feel to it.
Here is a 2009 Scirocco 2.0 GT TDi that practically stole the recent MIVW show! The Viper Green paint and the custom gold finished Rotifom TMB's were a match made in heaven. 19x9 & 19x10 with 225/35 & 235/35 tires and dumped on the ground with the help of Air-lift digital easy street set up, this bad boy is easily one of the best looking Scirocco's we've ever seen. What we found pretty cool was that the owner (Lee Morgan) redid the whole interior using the original '78 VW Scirocco cloth! Also, a touch of carbon fiber was added to the front grill, mirrors & rear window surroundings which we love very much. Lastly, he cleaned the whole exterior up by shaving off things like the front plate and all the unwanted badges. Hit the Read More button for more photos and big shout out to Ronald & Lee Morgan!

The last couple of days leading up to Spocom were a little hectic and stressful for me since I was scrambling to get my wheels back from DPE and finish up some last minute cleaning. Living only 20 minutes from Willow Springs Raceway has its advantages, and the disadvantage is that I have to travel 2+ hours to go to meets and shows. Since Spocom was the first time I would be showing with Team RareJDM, I had to make sure I made it. The show started at 4pm and ended at 11pm. Roll-in started at 9am and we were the “lucky” ones to make it in first. We watched everyone else roll in, get set up, and then we just waited for the party to start! 4 o’clock came around and people started piling in. By 6, the place was crowded and photo-taking became really difficult. It was a good time even though there were more non-‘fitted’ cars than fitted cars, but still some beautiful setups nonetheless. I ran in to Aaron from DPE and Will from SP Engineering and we took a “tour” of the VIP lounge. While I was up there I managed to snap a couple shots of the entire venue. Hope you enjoy my coverage!

Men in Volkswagen, also known as MIVW is one ofthe largest VW gathering in Holland. When it comes to quality & quantity, many like to compare it to the Worthersee [1,2]. Some of Europes finest Volkswagens gather in from several countries for this event and as the photos will show, MIVW never disappoints. What's amazing is that just a few years ago a bunch of friends decided to throw a small event in Holland and this is what it has turned into just 7 years later. Anyway, enjoy the first set of photos below. We'll have more in the next couple of days along with a few exclusive spotlights.
