Slammered!

Let's try this again, shall we? Last time we showed you the 3 photos of William's ride many of you wanted to see more. Luckily we were able to get in touch with Lewis and Samantha who managed to get some awesome photos for us and even a little bit more on the car! It belongs belonged to William Cole out of the beautiful England. William tells us that this was pretty much a stock low-mileage 323 when he bought it back in March. He drove it around standard for months enjoying a fully useable car and then decided to be silly and have some fun. His plan for the E36 was to drop it to the point where it would appear to be undriveable, but still use it on the daily. Looks like he achieved it, what do you say?

First, he purchased a set of Amber repeaters, painted the grills black, lost the front plate with a blank, an then grabbed one of the last sets of Rokkor coilovers in the UK. Although he wanted BC Coilovers, money wouldn't stretch that far. At the same time he ordered up some adjustable camber arms and then started hunting for some aggressive wheels. He had a few sets in mind, and at first decided on a set of 17x9.5 all round early 90's corvettes. After doing some offset calculations he realized the fronts weren't going to give him the desirable amount of tuck even with silly camber. He carried on looking and with the help of his friend, he found a set of 17x8.5 et13 and 17x10 et14 OZ Breytons, still running the original barrels and lips as designed in the OZ factory in the mid 90s. It was love at first sight. The low offsets, flat fully polished faces and nice shiney dishes all helped make his decision that much easier.

Within a week he had driven the 400 mile round trip to go and pick the wheels up and ordered tires to give the desired stretch. By this point the other parts he had ordered had arrived and his E36 stash pile was looking promising. A call to his buddies Nick and Spuey had him fixed up for some help putting the car together and the rest, as they say, is history. Hit the Read More button for more pictures!

.....well actually no, it wasn't that easy. Just like every project, the E36 had some teething problems when low. Wheels rubbing, lips of wheels hitting and bending fenders, smashed sump, diff. issues, and some serious tracking problems which saw him kill rear tyres as fast as the drift boys. All projects have problems and it's just a case of working out the fixes though, right? When all that was done he gradually added the parts that he thought the car needed. Losing the cat and mid box, and adding a rather aggressive and 90's flavour backbox was one of them, then adding a genuine M3 rear bumper to add to the agressive looks of the e36.

By this point his ideas were still flowing but the bank balance didn't agree, so the decision was made to sell the car on and find something a bit older. You'll just have to wait on that one. William wanted to give a massive thanks to everyone that's helped on the car as he certainly couldn't have built it or driven it daily without a select few. Huge thanks to William, Samantha and Lewis from all of us! Scroll down for more.

A Caddy from Heaven!

Many of you will recognize this Caddy as it's truly one of a kind. Fortunately, our photographer Evano Gucciardo was able to get a few closer shots of it last month during WekFest Chicago. It belongs to Nick Weir from Seen it! crew and not only does it rock an extremely clean K20 swap under it's hood with a full tuck, but it's fitment is just insane. It sits dumped on a beautiful set of all new Work Meister CR-01's. Saying that it looks good is truly an understatement, this thing is jaw dropping. If you're in the Chicago area and want to check this thing out in person, make sure you come out to our 2nd annual meet & greet at Fizz Autosports in a couple weeks! Big shout out to Nick and all the Seen it! dudes.

k day!! 2011 Photo Coverage // Part 2

The first part of our K Day!! photo coverage can be seen by clicking this link. As we mentioned last time, k day is an event held in Japan which features a ton of USDM inspired cars, specifically Hondas. We wouldn't go as far as saying that the Japanese do USDM better then us (like some like to believe) but they definitely know what they're doing. It's honestly a bit disappointing that part of our scene consists of roof racks, replica wheels and sticker bombed lips, but that's just how it is and the Japanese seem to like it. We hope you enjoy this coverage that was brought to you by Kazuki and make sure you click the Read More button for dozens more photos!
