キットの屋根と正面パーツは他の目的に使う予定なので, 今回は側面パネルだけ使ってウソ電作りです. 以前から, 空気を上手く循環させて快適な車内環境を作るために高い屋根を持った冷房化通勤電車という構想を持っていて, それを名鉄5000系の正面と国鉄10系客車の屋根を使って試みます. 正面は30年以上前に転校する級友がくれたパーツ. 屋根は適当な長さに切ってパントグラフォのために一部を平らにします. なかなかのフィット具合です.

Yes, strictly... honestly speaking, I am making a fictional train, also this time. I don't model an Eidan subway vehicle. For other purposes (which are also fictional trains) I reserve the roof and front end facade of the kit. So that the side panels are left over. This work is effective use of them in advance.

For long time I wanted to make a model of the fictional commuter train with a deep vault roof like a sleeper wagon. When the train is air conditioned, this kind of high roof may enable a large-scale air circulation and a natural dispersion of heat, to make an indoor environment more confortable. The train should be in 1950-60's "new age" style. Its air conditioner is concealed inside and nothing is equipped overtop. So the surface is as smooth as aircraft.

I used the front end parts of Meitetsu's series 5000 "Super Romance" car. The parts were given to me some 30 years ago. A junior high classmate gave me them before he moved to other school. And the roof panel is taken from JNR's series 10 passenger wagon. I cut it to the appropriate length and carved it in order to make a flat area for a pantagraph and other equipments. Look ! The roof fits the body well.
