
The period of break in has ended since the end of Oct. last year, three months have passed already, and it finally reached ODO 3,000km.
I’ll look back at the 1,000km that I drove during this time.
Initially I was planning to check the direction of customization.
However one day I forgot the plan and I was making a transition to the F80 characterization period.
The concept of F80 says "The best motor performance at the circuit and comfortable driving performance in daily life can be fully enjoyed", the manufacturer says.
When I drive while imagining this concept, I’ll receive a different impression from the concept.
On the streets I come across “Stop and Go” scene in the downtown areas, but I’ll notice that I’m being asked for delicate operation when I become such a scene.
So the first point I've been concerned with is the operability of the accelerator and a steering wheel.
The category of F80 is the D segment sedan, however as you start driving you will be surprised by the extreme taste that makes you forget that category entirely.
It’s an access work at the initial speed and I think everyone feels that way.
3 accelerator mode prepared by the program seems to be twin plate system which has not been adjusted of release bearing in any program, and it’s impossible to demonstrate the best exercise performance and comfortable driving performance unless it’s delicate.
This is the unique taste of M-DCT unit, I think that it’s one of the driving pleasures F80 aimed for.
As for the steering mode too, 3 programs are prepared.
I feel that the steering mode is set based on the cornering work in the high speed range.
Among them, I felt that sports plus had been set to a taste equivalent to the manual steering system when entering the high speed range.
These operabilities are provided seriously the stage for vehicle enthusiasts who challenges to drive over every scene use F80, and BMW is aiming for since establishment, the original character of M, and potential, and that it implicitly appeals the concept of F80.
The next point is the setting of the suspension system.
Normal is hard settings as if it was based on winding roads in the high speed range.
If equipped with adaptive (EDC) function, I think that the owners who evaluates barely comfortable ride in the comfort mode on the general road can be most.
Then, when lowering the car height, the setting with sport springs felt uncomfortable by the damping ratio.
Currently, I’m using the above specifications, however I’ll planning to change it aiming for further evolution at future.
And, although everyone is paying attention to the essential point "Engine feeling and Performance", in order to master the essence of F80, considering driving etc in various environments, it will take considerable times.
After driving a certain distance in various environments, I’d like to comment along about exercise performance and driving performance.
