I was going through some of my books and I found this textbook for the Charade G30 Diesel. I think I got this when I picked up a lot of old Daihatsu workshop books for my Charmant.

Specifically, this book is for the original CL-10 NA model! The book was published in August 1983 by Daihatsu. The Turbo model was introduced later, in 1984.



The Charade G30 Diesel NA is super-rare. It was sold in the UK, but I don't think there are any of this model left. There are a few G11s and a few G30 Turbo, but the G30 NA is probably completely gone.

If this guy wants it, I'm happy to send it to him by Airmail if he gives me the details of where to send it. There's some good diagrams and specifications. I don't want any money, it's only a small lightweight book. I'm just happy to provide a useful book to another owner.

I was helping a friend with the MOT Inspection process for one of his cars (Volkswagen Golf 1.6 Driver - second generation). He brought me a Hot Wheels Civic "EF". This isn't my photo, but it's the same one.

It's so cool that you can get toy cars like this now. Usually Hot Wheels were mostly American muscle cars and modern supercars, but more recently they have been doing classic Japanese cars. In the last few years, you can get the C10, C110, S30Z, 510 (and Wagon!), AE86, SA22C. Probably some others! The EF seems unusual, but it's a popular tuning car in America.

I'm not a serious collector, I just occasionally buy a model if I like it. They sell these in most convenience stores cheaply (about the same as a bottle of Coke), so if I'm out to buy food I may also come back with a car. It makes a boring trip for shopping a little bit more interesting, at least.

If I was a kid nowadays, I think I'd spend all my money on these cars.

I recently fitted a Dashcam to the 156. It's quite a basic model, Mini 0803. I didn't want anything expensive, just something cheap and small.

I fitted it for a few reasons. Mostly it's to protect me from car accident insurance fraud, since it's a big problem here. But I also thought it would be a good way of recording videos, so I can show you some interesting roads.

Day:


These are just local streets, I was only testing the camera. The window is quite dirty! You can notice it with the low winter sun.

Night:


This is a local road near me. The limit is 50mph (80km/h), so I wasn't speeding. It looks very dark, but the 156 headlights are very weak! I need to fit some better bulbs. It's an unusual road - it doesn't have any street lights, but it's still quite busy.

Overall I think the performance is quite good! I'll get some more interesting videos later.

Some more work on the P11, it now has some Nissan wheel covers. Looks OK! The weather is quite bad at the moment so I haven't been able to do much. I have to work outside, so I rely on good weather.

If you didn't know, I've also got a P10. It's the 2.0eGT (SR20DE with 150ps; equivalent to 2.0Te). But this was the top sports model of the P10 Primera. I love the way it drives! The handling is excellent. Even today I think it's an impressive car.



This weekend I arranged to transfer it to the garage so I can start driving it again soon. I stopped using it last year because I was too busy and it had an electrical problem. I think it's just the alternator or maybe just a bad battery. The mechanic will look at it and then we'll see what to do. It should be easy I think.

Though I'll probably sell the P11 soon, I'm keeping the P10.
