良いお話だったので、シェアさせて頂きます。



A 50- something year old white woman arrived at her seat on a crowded flight and immediately didn't want the seat.
50歳程度の白人の女性が混んでいる飛行機の中で座りたくないと突然言い出しました。

The seat was next to a black man.
その席は黒人の方の隣でした。
... Disgusted, the woman immediately summoned the flight attendant and demanded a new seat.
嫌悪感を催し、客先乗務員に違う席にしてくれと要求しました。
The woman said "I cannot sit here next to this black man." The fight attendant said "Let me see if I can find another seat."
女性は「黒人の隣には座れません」と言うと、客先乗務員は「他の席が空いているか確認してまいります」と伝えました。

After checking, the flight attendant returned and stated "Ma'am, there are no more seats in economy, but I will check with the captain and see if there is something in first class." About 10 minutes went by and the flight attendant returned and stated "The captain has confirmed that there are no more seats in economy, but there is one in first class. It is our company policy to never move a person from economy to first class, but being that it would be some sort of scandal to force a person to sit next to an UNPLEASANT person, the captain agreed to make the switch to first class."
確認後、客室乗務員が帰ってきてこう言いました。「すいません、エコノミー席は満席です。しかし、機長に確認してファーストクラスに変更出来るか確認致します。」そして10分後、客先乗務員は「機長はエコノミー席に空きがなく、ファーストクラスに１席空きがある事を了解しました。弊社の規則では、エコノミークラスからファーストクラスにタダでランクアップされた事はないのですが、『不愉快な』人の隣に座りたくないとの事件が起こってしまったようですので、機長はファーストクラスへの移動を許可されました。」。

Before the woman could say anything, the attendant gestured to the black man and said, "Therefore sir, if you would so kindly retrieve your personal items, we would like to move you to the comfort of first class as the captain doesn't want you to sit next to an unpleasant person." Passengers in the seats nearby began to applause while some gave a standing ovation.
女性が言う前に客室乗務員が黒人の方にジェスチャーを交え「と、言う事ですので、機長が貴方（黒人の方）を不愉快な方（白人女性）の隣に座らせるのが嫌なので、ファーストクラスに移動させて頂きま す。荷物を持ってこちらにお越しください。」
近くに座っていた乗客からは立ち上がっての拍手（スタンディングオベーションが起こりました。

Stop racism!
人種差別反対！




※皆さんにわかりやすく説明する為に（黒人の方）（白人女性）と使ってしまいましたが、これも人種差別発言になるんですよね･･・・
難しいなぁ･･･。
