Valve Cover Replacement & More [Part 3]

Reinstallation now begins, but not before giving the upper & lower intake manifolds a clean of any surface corrosion & the flange surfaces also made clean. Valves mounting screws were also checked for tightness.

New PCV hoses are also fitted to the lower manifold, before reinstalling.

Manifold fitted & new OEM gaskets installed. Rear blow-by hoses connected to PCV valve. Loctite thread sealant applied to 2 middle bolts of the manifold as per FSM.

Upper manifold after a complete clean inside & out, ready to install.

Upper manifold reinstalled, pending mounting bolts, brackets & throttle body installation.

All engine components reinstalled.

Job complete! From here, coolant was added to the upper filler pipe & any air bubbles vented (from removing the downpipes earlier) before starting the engine. Both front & rear heaters were set to max hot & the engine was let to run until normal operating temperature, checking for consistent warm air from both heaters.

The ATF level was also checked once at operating temp (from having earlier replaced it)

Nissan Data Scan II program was connected & running to keep an eye on water temp & to also perform the IAVL after having disconnected the throttle body. The idle speed was then corrected & all running well.
