Valve Cover Replacement & More [Part 1]

Due to leaking valve cover gaskets & spark plug tube seals also leaking, the decision was made to replace the valve covers completely with new, whilst at the same time also change the spark plugs & anything else in need of replacement.

Before the tear-down! Wiper cowl & upper panel are removed firstly & so we begin..

With the main engine loom & other various wiring moved out of the way, the upper manifold collector is removed. Removing the throttle body firstly from the manifold helps immensely upon it's removal.

Upper manifold removed & before a thorough clean.

Lower manifold after removal. A lot of oil & gunk especially on the valves, assumingly from a failed PCV valve..

With the manifold collectors removed, from here, quite a few parts will be replaced.

Spark plugs removed firstly. Ok condition, however a few of them were quite oil soaked, likely from the leaking tube seals.

New plugs to be installed (new OEM rear wiper blade also seen)
