Sudden thunder began to burst now with big noise, bibration and heavy rain! It means that pressure power changes according to the seasons, the date of beginning of Autumn past already.
Favorable season for my air-cooled Super Beetle will be soon at hand. The brake fluid colored in black mmakes me anxious about the detoreoration of rubber material in the brake sylindor. Also, brake shoe expansion adjustment was required leading to slipping resistor increment, over heating tendency of AD motor is resulting, doubtful story is established. Digging in mechanical precision makes a resonable story. Consequently, I'll dare disassemble brake system throughly soon. My Beetle has aged over 50 years, so precise and careful manitenace is required without any argument. Though the maintenance of old vehicle is not an easy task for a geriatric, I would like to continue it to keep my identity.

Brake fluid in 11AD air-cooled Beetle was replaced yesterday. Dirty colored old liquid was miserable. Brake shoe expanding was also adjusted. These adjustment and material replacement should be performed so periodically in regular inspections.
Rattle noise was discerned at the steering rinkage and hysterresis reaction is felt while driving. More tite feeling in the reaction would be obtained if this shaky condition should be removed, next maintenance step is preared at all endlessly.

For more than ten years after the last maintenance, brake fluid of 11AD air-cooled Super Beetle is not changed left undone pretending unknown. Its service life is over a few years ago in spite of an important matters related to life? Leagally required periodic replacement parts should be so done without any apologic reason. Since it's working fine without any obvious problems, it's easy to put it off, but brake fluid is the only thing you can't judge by color or transparency alone. It absorbs moisture from the air, causing rust on the brake cylinder walls. Also, the rubber parts like the cups and seals can suddenly break down over time, making it extremely dangerous.

I have determined to do that tomorrow! I have prepared replacement part canned brake fluid already. Overcome the innate tendency to slack off. Description is said to myself.

I have been looking forward to coming across with suitable wheel center cap for ten years. Then I found it out yesterday in my hobby junk box. The cap of Tamiya color mini spray can fits very well without any rattle like a genuine parts. Outer tension is tight enough not to fall down while driving. As a proverb says, I have waited so long and I got them, "If you wait, the weather will be good for sailing!"
It's hard to find a good center cap for an aluminum wheel, but there are even fewer for a steel wheel. I chose one that doesn't protrude too far outward and has no unnecessary decorations or bumps. It is especially important for driven wheel to prevent dust and rust. If hub nut is left naked, loosening it would be difficult because of rusting phenomena. Because of hub bearing wear, some times tightening affair should be required. Anyway, wheel center cap is an indispensable parts.
