Pursuit From Hollywood to Hancock Park Ends in Fiery Crash; Driver in Custody

A man is in custody Tuesday after leading Los Angeles Police officers on a chase from Hollywood to Hancock Park and crashing into a light pole.

The pursuit began about 12:40 p.m., when police spotted the reckless driver, and ended about 10 minutes later when the Range Rover driver crashed into a light pole past the intersection of Arden and Beverly boulevards.

The Range Rover was in flames and the light pole was in the middle of the road after being sheered off, aerial video from Sky5 showed.

The vehicle appeared to be brand-new and Los Angeles firefighters eventually put out the blaze.

The man was able to escape the vehicle and had no visible injuries when he was arrested at the scene, said LAPD Liliana Preciado.
