　勤務実績を改ざんし、超過勤務などの手当を不正受給したとして、警視庁は２０日、同庁サイバー犯罪対策課の男性巡査部長（４０）を電子計算機使用詐欺や公電磁的記録不正作出・同供用などの疑いで書類送検し、同日付で懲戒免職処分とした、と発表した。容疑を認め「雑用を自分ばかりが頼まれる不満を発散させるためだった」と説明しているという。

人事１課によると、巡査部長は、課員の勤務実績のシステム入力担当だった２０１８年５月～今年６月、自身の超過勤務などを４０６時間分水増しして入力し、１２５万７５１３円の手当を不正に受給した疑いがある。同庁は監督責任で、男性警視ら当時の上司４人についても訓戒や所属長注意とした。

Japan truck maker Isuzu to buy Volvo unit UD Trucks for 250 bil. yen

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- Japanese truck maker Isuzu Motors Ltd. said Wednesday it will acquire the Japanese unit of Sweden's AB Volvo, UD Trucks Corp., as part of their broader business tie-up for around 250 billion yen ($2.3 billion).

The two companies said they will jointly develop technologies of next-generation vehicles such as autonomous trucks and seek other joint operations to boost sales in Asian markets.

"We can complement each other's businesses," Isuzu President Masanori Katayama said at a press conference in Tokyo.

The Japanese company has a strong footing in the small and mid-sized truck market in Asia, while the Swedish manufacturer holds a large share in heavy-duty trucks in Europe and the United States.

Volvo chief executive Martin Lundstedt said his company will seek to bolster its operations through a long-term partnership.

Katayama said Isuzu plans to buy all UD Trucks shares from Volvo for about 250 billion yen by the end of next year, though the purchase price could change depending on due diligence.

In Isuzu's first major alliance after terminating its capital tie-up with Toyota Motor Corp. last year, the Japanese company will also seek joint production with Volvo, Katayama said. The two companies are not currently considering a capital tie-up, he added.

UD Trucks, formally known as Nissan Diesel Motor Co., became the wholly owned unit of Volvo in 2007 after buying shares from Nissan Motor Co.

Among other truck makers in Japan, Hino Motor Ltd. and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corp. operate under the Toyota and Daimler groups.

Isuzu is stepping up efforts for new tie-ups after dissolving the tie-up with Toyota.

Isuzu said in October last year it will enter talks with U.S. engine manufacturer Cummins Inc. on the joint development of more eco-friendly diesel engines.
