While tidying the shelves, I came across with an old, cloudy zoom lens. I probably won it at Yahoo auction for 1 yen. It's a useless lens that doesn't let light through properly. It only captures images that look hazy.
Tokina RMC 80-200/f4.0. It has an in-tube zoom adjustment system and does not extend. The internal cam structure is simple and the movement is light. I disassembled it and wiped down the entire lens surface, and now it forms an image properly, transparently! It will produce a classic image that is different from modern recent products, so I'm looking forward to it.
I plan to take it with me for my next shooting journey.

As a matter for regret, my Golf 7 GTI was sold away a few hours ago. No damage was observed even small scratch, no history of repair except engine mount replacement and car battery. It was like new as to surpize the buyer. The value was about a quarter of my payment 11 years ago.
Then new commer tomorrow is New Civic with manual transmission.
My son will realize how stupid it will be to replace cars into more troublesome model?

I had my right eye operated yesterday, crystal tissue was replaced into artificial one. 2mm width surgical cutting on cornea was required to insert ultrasonic instrument insertion and that for artificial crystal material setting on the adequate place. It was done not under general anesthesia but local one, so all the steps were felt one by one---that was threatening at all. Though under anesthetic condition, I felt dull pain twice, on every instrument insertion. While the operation felt I extraordinary sparkling scenery that I have never experienced, ultimate highlight. After removing eye protecting gauge cover today, the scenery was dramatically changed like a new world---lighter, clear and transparent. Remembering my old good days about 30 years ago, I was so active in Radio control model airplane in F3A pattern field and I was selected as one of the representatives in Kansai area. The contest pattern is drawn at three positions, left, center and right, 120m distance with 120 angle degree area. Yes, I was not good at right side pattern. Now I have realized the reason why right side, lack of eyesight was the reason.

I'm going to have medical operation on my eye tomorrow because of tinting in the crystal tissue. Most of the cases are successfully done, so I'm heard, but I'm so threatened! I've never invaded by any artificial surgical operation except impacted third molar extractions. Remembering the saying by my aunt who went away tens year ago, "Any surgical operation whatever reason it might be is no good for sound body condition.".

As for myself, I'll accept any result if it the worst. It must be my own destiny. To tell the truth, I was introduced the practitioner by my intimate friend, who had been the representative of the optical division of a famous big hospital. Consequently, the eye doctor is well trained and skillful person.

Anyway, I will go to bed earlier than usual taking hypertensive drug and dropping antibiotics eye medicine.

I happen to obtain two historical heritage, one is Leica M3 and another Nikon F2, both of them are vessels that reigned supreme during the golden age of silver halide film.
To tell the trueth, they had been desreted few years ago when I determined to change from analog to digital. It's true that I have been feeling some sadness on them.
It is the most unlikely that I would invite silver sal film from now, but the lenses for them could be utilized again on digital format and taste of them in good days could be done even now.
If asked which is the definer lens or digital sensor on the picture quqlity, I would like to reply "Lens" without hesitation. Lens design with some aberration has much to do with the quality of work.
Consequently, tasting the old lens's capability is one of the indispensable purpose to enjoy my hobby life.
