I received dental treatment today.
This is to have the lower left first molars fitted with a second-class inlay that includes the distal adjacent surface.
The material is not metal, but it is a substance called Zirconia that is white and inconspicuous.
The clinical procedure of dentistry has changed significantly in the last few decades and as a matter of surprise, there is no procedure of molding or taking impressions and no recording of centric occlusion.
Instead, a three-dimensional scan of the dentition of all upper and lower jaws and a scan in a occluded state were performed.
The data obtained is transferred to the laboratory and it seems that it will be processed by carving out the material. I was wondering if a decent filling would be completed and installed, but it ended in vain as a meare melancholy.
I've heard that a 3D scanner can do quite a bit, but it's hard to believe this much.
The periodontal ligament has a perceptual potential that can detect the intervention of a single hair, so I can sense the finished condition by myself. It is just a wonderful word.
