エボＸ の発売は 決まったものの
以前 言われてた ５ドアスポーツバックと
ベストカーに 出ていた エボよりは
お求め安く 設定したスポーツモデルの存在だが、
今回 その スポーツモデルの方の存在が
明らかになったようだ。
以前 セディアに 設定していた ラリーアートエディション的 存在みたいで
バンパー形状は 多少エボを 意識したものの フェンダー箇所が標準である部分や
グリル下に ダクトが 無い所に 違いがある。
個人的には これを ＶＲ－４という名で 是非とも 出して頂きたいものだが？
High-Performance Mitsubishi Lancer Spied
Ralliart ?
The 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer is already on sale in three different models (DE, ES, and GTS),
all powered by a 2.0 liter inline 4-cylinder engine. Now these latest photos
taken in Death Valley capture a high-performance prototype being tested
in hot weather conditions.
One look at the huge dual exhaust pipes makes it
clear that this is not the standard 2-liter engine. A look at the front also shows an intercooler mounted just behind the lower grille opening. Without question, this thing is turbocharged.
But what is it, exactly? Mitsubishi is famous for its high-performance Lancer Evo, but the Evo always has a huge rear spoiler and bulging fender flares. This wolf in sheep’s clothing has the body of the standard lancer, and wears the 18 inch diameter allow wheels of the Lancer GTS. The front grille is unique, however. While most Lancers have a grille mesh that is flush with the front end, this one has the mesh recessed a couple of inches back.
Perhaps this indicates that there will be a new performance model with a powerful engine but without the over-the-top racer looks of the Evo; a new Ralliart for those who want speed but discreet looks.
