英国のプログレ誌
Prog Magazineが主宰するアワード＜Progressive Music Awards 2016＞が現地時間9月2日にロンドンで
開催され、各受賞作品／アーティストが発表されました。
各賞6月15日に
ノミネートが発表され、Netによるファン投票が実施されその結果をもとに
各賞が決定されています。
King Crimson、RUSH、David Gilmour、Steven Wilson、Dream Theater等もノミネートされていましたが、
若い人のNet投票が多いのか、大御所は受賞を逃しています。
賞の名前が変わっていて、今一つ各賞の意味がピンとこないものが多いのですが、
一通り受賞者を載せておきます。

Vanguard - The Mute Gods 先駆者？
プログレ界の凄腕助っ人のNick Beggs（Bass、Guitar、Vocal）、Roger King（Keyboard）、Marco Minnemann（Drums）が結成したBand
Storm Thorgerson Grand Design Award - Anthony Phillips Esoteric Reissue Series 優れた再発盤に対する賞のようです
Album of the Year - iamthemorning: Lighthouse 英国のLabelから発売されていますが、RussiaのBandでバロック系です
Band of the Year - Big Big Train Live Eventと同時受賞
The Outer Limits - The Buggles プログレ境界線？
Chris Squire Virtuoso - Jakko Jakszyk (King Crimson) 名人、技巧派？
King Crimson本体は受賞を逃しましたが、Jakkoが受賞。
Gavin Harrisonも駆け付けていました。
Guiding Light - Andy Summers 道先案内人？ 元PoliceのGuitarist
Visionary - Jon Hiseman (Colosseum) 幻影？
Lifetime Achievement - Van der Graaf Generator 特別功労賞？
Prog God - Jon Anderson プログレ神？ まあ納得ではありますが。
【Jon Anderson Trevor Rabin & Rick Wakeman】
Jon Andersonの受賞に一緒に元祖YESのARWとしてリハーサルを行っているTrevor RabinとRick Wakemanも駆け付けたようです。
来春来日の方向で交渉が行われているようです。11月来日の本家YESよりも期待が高まっています。
