Triton Grabs Pick-Up Truck of the Year Four Years Running
The award-winning Mitsubishi Triton is the Twin Cab Pick-up Truck of the year again for the New Straits Times/Maybank Car of the Year Awards 2009, announced at an evening gala held at The Saujana, Kuala Lumpur recently.
The all new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport 7-seater SUV was named the Large SUV of the year at the same event.
Since 2007, the Triton has won New Straits Times/Maybank Pick-Up Truck of the Year and is the only pick-up range in Malaysia that can count each variant as an award winner. The Triton 2.5-Litre was named NST-Maybank Pick-Up Truck of the Year in 2007 and the Triton 3.2-Litre followed in year 2008. On the same year, the Triton Lite 4x2 manual was name winner in the pick-up category at the Autocar ASEAN Car of the Year Awards 2008.

The recently facelifted Triton variants feature an extended cargo bed improving overall carrying capacity by 180 mm in length and 55 mm in depth. For the 4x4 models, a new RV meter, which is unique to the Triton’s interior, displays travel data such as range, average speed, fuel consumption and also a digital compass, barometer, altimeter and outer temperature.
