Mitsubishi’s Top-Selling Lancer Adds New Models for 2013
New GT AWC model plus 10th Anniversary edition
Mississauga, ON (October 10, 2012) – Mitsubishi’s most popular vehicle in Canada, the Lancer, gets an expanded model range for the 2013 model year. Hot off the heels of the successful SE AWC model introduced last year, an all-new GT AWC model debuts in 2013.
Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada has also designated a 10th Anniversary edition Lancer for sale throughout the new model year. The Lancer nameplate has been available since the company’s start in Canada in September 2002, making it the obvious choice to sport the anniversary-edition badge.
The new 10th Anniversary Lancer falls between the SE and GT models and receives standard power sunroof, rear wing spoiler, leather-wrapped steering wheel, shift knob and parking brake lever along with five-spoke aluminum alloy wheels and fog lamps.
With a starting price of $19,998, the 10th Anniversary Lancer represents exceptional value with approximately $2,500 worth of no-charge extra features, available for a limited time.
Lancer DE, SE, 10th Anniversary edition and GT models all feature the 2.0-litre, 148-horsepower four-cylinder engine and five-speed manual transmission with optional Continuously Variable Transmission.
The new GT AWC model becomes the top-of-the-line Lancer. Like the SE AWC, it is powered by the 2.4-litre, four-cylinder, 168-horsepower engine mated to the Sportronic Continuously Variable Transmission. All Wheel Control, featuring push-button, 2WD/4WD Auto/4WD Lock drive-mode selector, and rear wing spoiler are standard; the GT AWC also features leather seating surfaces, FAST-key keyless entry and starting system, power sunroof and the 710-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system.
In addition, steering feel is further enhanced on Lancer GT AWC with the addition of hydraulic-power assisted steering rather than the electric power assisted steering featured on other Lancer models.
MSRPs on the 2013 Mitsubishi Lancer start at $15,498 for the DE model, $19,198 on Lancer SE model, and $23,998 on Lancer GT. The 2013 Lancer SE AWC and new GT AWC models have MSRPs of $23,098 and $27,998, respectively.

Rounding out the 2013 changes is a new exterior colour Cosmic Blue metallic, available on all Lancers except base DE model.
Mitsubishi’s distinctive Lancer models, the Sportback, Ralliart and Evolution, are unchanged for 2013 model year.
