三菱自動車 の 新たな 世界戦略 モデル ／ グローバル ・ スモール ・ エコカー
ミツビシ ミラージュ ( Ｍｉｔｓｕｂｉｓｈｉ Ｍｉｒａｇｅ ) の 生産 を
タイ 東部 の チョンブリ県 レムチャバン工業団地内 に 新しく 完成 した
ミツビシ ・ モーターズ ・ タイランド 第三工場 にて 開始 した 事 を
プレスリリース にて 発表 しました。
また 現地 タイ に おける 同モデル の 正式 な ネーミング を
ミツビシ ミラージュ ( Ｍｉｔｓｕｂｉｓｈｉ Ｍｉｒａｇｅ ) と 決定 した 事 も
同時 に 発表 しました。

発表 した プレスリリース に よると
タイ仕様 ミツビシ ミラージュ は 現地 タイ では ３月２８日 に
バンコク 国際モーターショー にて 正式 に 発表 される 予定 で
車両価格 は エントリーモデル ３８万 バーツ から の 設定 と なります。
ミツビシ ミラージュ は
「 新興国 に おける エントリーカー （ 経済性 ） 」 と
「 先進国 に おける 低燃費 ／ 低 ＣＯ２車 （ 環境性能 ） 」 と いう ニーズ を 両立 させる
「 小型 」 ／ 「 低価格 」 ／ 「 低燃費 」 を コンセプト と した 新時代 の コンパクトカー で
コンパクトカー ならではの 取り回し の 良さ や
運転 の し易さ を 実現 しながら 大人 ５人 の ため の 居住空間 を 実現 する
高効率パッケージ を 採用。
細かな 部品 に 至るまでの 徹底的 な 軽量化
エンジン ／ トランスミッション ／ ブレーキ や タイヤ など 細部 に わたる 高効率化 と
走行抵抗 の 低減 さらに 空気抵抗低減効果 の 高い ボディ形状 の 採用 などで
クラストップレベル の ３０ ｋｍ ／ ℓ の 低燃費 を 実現 すること を 目指しています。

Mitsubishi starts Eco car production and unveils official name Mitsubishi “MIRAGE” for Thai market with starting price 380,000 baht
Pathumtani- March 1, 2012:
Mitsubishi Motors announces start of production of its Eco Car under Global Small Project at the new 3rd factory after receiving government’s green light on business plan. The car will be named as Mitsubishi “MIRAGE” in Thai market and fuel consumption is target to be approximately 22 km / liter. The Domestic prices are expected to be within a range of 380,000 – less than 550,000 baht with the very attractive sales offer for launch period. The new model will be unveiled as world debut at the 33rd Bangkok International Motor Show scheduled on March 28, 2012.
Mr. Nobuyuki Murahashi, President of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Company Limited (MMTh) today reveals about progress of its first Eco Car that after receiving the
government’s green light on Eco Car project, the company has started production at the all-new plant in Thailand. On this same occasion the company announces the official name Mitsubishi “MIRAGE” which will be used both in Thai market and other countries.
Stems from the English word “MIRAGE”, the name was first used for the MIRAGE Series developed for resource, energy, space-saving and high-performance in a compact package which debuted in Japan in March 1978. The Mitsubishi “MIRAGE”concept inherits the essence of that first series: cleverly getting the most performance and function out of a limited space.
Since 2008, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) and MMTh got Investment Promotion Approval for Eco Car from BOI, which later the Design of Mitsubishi Eco Car was approved by Ministry of Industry. Now it comes to the final stage that the project has been passed Eco Car’s criteria requirements comprising of the following conditions;
- Fuel Efficiency consuming not over 5 Liters per 100 Kilometers
- Comply with Euro 4 Emission Standard or higher and emitting not more than 120 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer
- Satisfy passenger safety standards for both front and side impact as specified by UNECE Reg. 94 and Reg. 95 respectively
Mitsubishi “MIRAGE” will be a global strategic vehicle of Mitsubishi Motors, positioned as an entry model in MMC’s model lineup that corresponds to both market needs of emerging countries and advanced nations, where vehicle downsizing is increasing in order to correspond to energy issues in addition to environmental awareness. Mitsubishi “MIRAGE”is developed by MMC with “Compact,” “Affordability,” and “Fuel Efficiency” as the basic concepts for the vehicle with low-CO2 emission as well as less fuel consumption that the company target 22km / liter. It conforms to Thailand’s Eco Car Project that has been implemented by Thai Government with the objective of promoting investment on Thailand’s automobile industry and reduction of dependence on fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emission.
After getting approval from concerned governments’ departments, Mitsubishi Eco car Project is now ready for implementation with the investment budget 16 billion Baht (45 billion yen) at the 3rd all-new plant in Thailand located in Laem Chabang Industrial Estate, Chonburi province.
According to MMTh’s plan, Mitsubishi “MIRAGE” will be introduced as a world premier in Thailand in this March 2012 with domestic price ranging from 380,000 to lower than 550,000 Baht with very special bonus sales campaign and it will be exported later on to worldwide markets as a global strategic vehicle.
The new car launching will start with press conference for Thai media on March 20, 2012 and makes its world debut at the 33rd Bangkok International Motor Show. The press day is on Marh 27 and Public day is during March 28 until April 8, 2012 at Impact, Muang Thong Thani.
