Having truly come of age in just five years, the City of Dreams Macau GT Cup boasts a start-studded entry comprising some of the biggest names in international motorsport and the finest sportscar specialists in Asia.
Topping the 33-strong entry, hailing from 13 countries and territories, is defending champion and two-time Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix winner, 25-year-old star Edoardo Mortara. The Italian, who is having a strong season in his second year of DTM with Audi, will be at the wheel of an Audi R8 LMS at Macau. Last year he beat 2010 race winner Keita Sawa of Japan by an impressive 6.470 seconds.
Sawa, reigning Porsche Carrera Cup Asia champion, is back, this time with in an LKM Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup R.
Testament to the rising stature of the race are the entries of 2010 Virgin Racing Formula 1 driver and 2005 Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix winner Brazilian Lucas Di Grassi, and 2010 Le Mans 24 Hours winner Romain Dumas of France. Di Grassi is entered by Auto Italia/AF Corse in a Ferrari 458 GT3, while Dumas will tackle the Guia Circuit in a Spark Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Macau favourite Danny Watts returns, this time hoping to snatch victory in the United Autosports McLaren MP4-12C GT3, having finished third in 2011. Team mate and fellow Briton Richard Meins will also race a McLaren, with a third entered by Team Buddyclub for Japanese Super GT racer Akira Iida.

Championship leader Mok Weng Sun of Singapore is entered in his Team Clearwater Racing Ferrari F458 GT3, and will battle it out for the 2012 title with rival Li Zhi Cong of China in a Porsche 911 GT3 R. Another star of the series is Jeffrey Lee in the Audi R8 LMS Cup team, who has shared driving duties this season in a Pro-Am partnership with Hong Kong’s Marchy Lee, and currently lies third on the series leaderboard.
The third Audi R8 LMS ultra will be piloted by veteran Hong Kong driver Philip Ma for the Team Hong Kong Racing outfit.
Swiss ace Alexandre Imperatori makes his sportscar debut on the Guia Circuit in a Team StarChase Porsche GT3 R, while Asia Racing Team’s Rodolfo Avila of Macau will compete in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

Hong Kong’s Mak Hing Tak will be at the wheel of an OMAK Team Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, while Dr. Shim Ching of Canada will race a Porsche 997 Cup 3.8.
Joining Avila in flying the flag for the Macau SAR is the only lady driver entered in the race, Diana Rosario. The former karting and junior single seater driver is entered by the FRD Racing Team in a Ferrari F430.
